We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Logistics & Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth flow of materials, inventory, and finished products throughout the facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and overhead cranes, managing inventory, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate documentation within the ERP system.
Job Responsibility
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, including handling 30' tubular materials
Load and unload trucks while ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently
Receive, inspect, and organize incoming raw bar stock and customer-supplied materials
Manage inventory in both the yard and shop, ensuring materials are properly stored and tracked
Strap finished products using metal and fabric banding and prepare pallets for shipment
Shrink-wrap pallets and attach delivery notes and shipping documentation
Receive purchase orders and process inventory transactions within the ERP system
Perform visual inspections of incoming materials and customer-supplied tools
Prepare delivery tickets, shipping documents, and close work orders accurately
Assist with inventory control, stock issuance to Bill of Materials (BOM), and cycle counting activities
Empty chip hoppers and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Learn and operate basic machine shop equipment such as saws and shot peen machines
Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or production environment
Previous forklift operating experience required
Experience with overhead cranes and material handling equipment is considered an asset
Knowledge of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations
Experience using ERP systems
SAP Business One or SAP Beas ERP experience is preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic computer skills and data entry experience
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required throughout the shift
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a shop and yard environment
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Nice to have
Experience with overhead cranes and material handling equipment
SAP Business One or SAP Beas ERP experience
