Job Responsibility
Schedule and track freight shipments utilizing Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Prepare and manage critical domestic and international shipping documentation
Manage the carrier portfolio by developing strong relationships
Negotiate competitive shipping rates directly with vendors
Effectively dispatch motor carriers
Audit and resolve freight invoice discrepancies
Manage system rate mismatches
Handle carrier invoice approvals
Coordinate with vendors to process credits or debit memos for short shipments and damages (MRDRs)
Collaborate closely with the warehouse team on unloading sequences
Issue prompt customer quotes
Maintain accurate internal databases
Support the broader contract review process
Requirements
4–5 years of dedicated logistics working experience is required
Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Proficiency with Excel is an asset
experience with TMS tracking software and customs documentation is highly preferred
Prior experience in the transportation and/or logistics sector is considered an asset
Candidates must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada to successfully clear the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements
