Job Description

Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Logistics Clerk to support document handling operations at a terminal in Ashland, Kentucky. This is a Contract position focused on organizing driver paperwork, accurately scanning records into the company’s imaging system, and helping maintain a consistent workflow. The role is well suited to someone who can follow instructions carefully, manage routine administrative tasks, and work efficiently in a transportation environment. Project - Temp Only - 2 maybe 3 days. Great pay!

Job Responsibility

  • Receive paperwork submitted by drivers and sort documents in an organized, easy-to-track manner
  • Prepare records for digital filing by scanning and uploading them accurately into the designated imaging system
  • Follow the checklist and guidance provided during the virtual onboarding session to complete assigned tasks correctly
  • Attend a scheduled Microsoft Teams training call, ask clarifying questions as needed, and record time worked appropriately
  • Help reduce document backlogs at the terminal by completing scanning assignments within expected timelines
  • Maintain consistency in document handling practices by applying standard procedures at the assigned location
  • Review scanned files for legibility and completeness before finalizing submission
  • Support office operations by keeping physical paperwork secure and properly arranged throughout the project

Requirements

  • Ability to perform detail-focused clerical or logistics-related tasks with accuracy
  • Comfortable working with scanners, basic computer systems, and Microsoft Teams
  • Capable of organizing paperwork efficiently in a fast-paced transportation or terminal setting
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Reliable attendance for the onboarding session and assigned on-site workdays
  • Effective communication skills for asking questions and confirming task expectations
  • Prior exposure to logistics, shipping and receiving, or transportation support work is helpful but not required

  • Partner with warehouse staff to confirm the correct products are loaded onto the assigned trailers before departure
  • Review shipment paperwork for completeness and accuracy and confirm freight details match the load being dispatched
  • Complete driver check-out procedures and ensure all required documents are finalized before release
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute shipping packets, including printing and assembling necessary documentation
  • Digitally scan and file Bills of Lading and related records to maintain organized electronic documentation
  • Send Advance Ship Notices to customers and retail partners and respond to shipment-related questions or issues as they arise
  • Work closely with dispatchers, transportation contacts, warehouse leadership, loaders, and customer service teams to resolve delivery or scheduling concerns and keep operations on track
