We are looking for a skilled Logistics and Supply Manager to oversee the complete movement of inventory, from supplier purchase orders to final warehouse receipt, ensuring seamless operations throughout the supply chain. This role is highly focused on execution and involves managing freight bookings, customs compliance, inventory reconciliation, and collaboration with key stakeholders. This is a long-term contract position based in Los Angeles, California.
Job Responsibility:
Organize and manage domestic and international freight bookings for all inbound shipments, including ocean, air, and ground transportation
Coordinate closely with suppliers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods
Monitor tariff classifications, country-of-origin data, and duty rates to ensure adherence to regulations
Track shipments from origin to destination, resolving delays, customs holds, documentation errors, and other issues
Issue and manage purchase orders, confirming supplier readiness and production schedules against agreed timelines
Ensure inbound inventory receipts align with purchase orders in terms of quantity, condition, and specifications
Investigate and address discrepancies such as shortages, overages, damages, or timing variances
Schedule inbound deliveries with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and oversee warehouse receiving processes
Reconcile inventory records across supplier documents, freight logs, customs entries, and warehouse systems
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate landed cost calculations, inventory valuations, and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Minimum of 4–7 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management
Proven expertise in freight booking, purchase order management, and warehouse receiving
Knowledge of tariff classifications, duty rates, and landed cost components
Experience working with third-party logistics providers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders
Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve inventory variances and discrepancies
Proficiency in logistics and inventory systems
Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams such as finance, sales, and planning
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills to handle complex supply chain challenges
