The Inventory and Inbound Goods Co-ordinator will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of goods-in, goods-out and inventory control activities at one of the MTC sites. This role is responsible for ensuring all inbound deliveries are accurately received, inspected, recorded and stored safely and efficiently, whilst maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting operational continuity across the facility. They are also responsible for ensuring that all goods outwards are packaged and labelled correctly, freight is arranged, and goods are loaded onto vehicles correctly and the shipment is recorded.
Job Responsibility
Manage and coordinate day-to-day goods-in activity, including receiving deliveries, checking items against purchase orders, delivery notes and supporting documentation
Inspect incoming goods for visible damage, shortages or discrepancies, escalating issues to Procurement, suppliers, project teams or relevant stakeholders as required
Ensure delivered items are booked in accurately using relevant business systems, spreadsheets or inventory records
Coordinate goods-out activity, including preparing items for collection, arranging dispatches, completing documentation and liaising with couriers, suppliers or internal stakeholders
Manage the safe and organised storage of goods, equipment, consumables and project materials at the assigned location
Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring stock movements, locations, quantities and ownership details are recorded and kept up to date
Support stock control activity, including cycle counts, periodic stock checks, discrepancy investigation and reporting
Work with project teams and internal customers to identify storage requirements, prioritise urgent materials and ensure items are available when required
Support the movement of goods between internal locations, external suppliers, customer sites and other MTC facilities where required
Ensure materials are clearly labelled, traceable and stored in appropriate locations, taking account of safety, security, handling and access requirements
Maintain good housekeeping standards within stores, goods-in, goods-out and storage areas
Support the control of high-value, sensitive, project-specific or customer-owned items, ensuring appropriate documentation and access controls are followed
Liaise with Procurement and Finance to support resolution of invoice, receipting, delivery or purchase order queries
Assist with supplier returns, warranty returns, repair items and non-conforming goods processes
Support the implementation and improvement of logistics, stores and inventory processes, helping to reduce delays, improve visibility and minimise operational risk
Follow all relevant health, safety, environmental and security procedures, including safe manual handling and site logistics requirements
Operate material handling equipment where trained and authorised, such as pallet trucks, trolleys or forklift trucks if applicable
Support audits, compliance checks and internal reviews by maintaining accurate records and providing evidence of inventory and goods movement activity
Build effective working relationships with internal teams, suppliers, couriers and logistics providers to support efficient operational delivery
Requirements
Experience working in a logistics, stores, warehouse, inventory, facilities, manufacturing, engineering or goods-in/goods-out environment
Good understanding of goods receipt, dispatch, storage and stock control processes
Ability to maintain accurate inventory records using business systems, spreadsheets or manual records where required
Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence and practical forklift driving experience
Experience operating forklifts safely within warehouse, manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities without close supervision
Self-disciplined and reliable with a proactive approach to work
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a busy operational environment
Good understanding of inventory control and stock management principles
Competent in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
Understanding of health and safety requirements within warehouse or industrial environments
Ability to lift and move materials safely in accordance with manual handling guidance
Full UK Driving Licence

Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, defence or R&D environments
Experience using inventory management or ERP systems for stock control, goods receipting and goods issue
Manual handling training or experience handling heavy, fragile, high-value or specialist equipment
Knowledge of asset tagging, stock counting, barcode systems or inventory labelling processes
Experience supporting audit or compliance activities
Understanding of basic procurement, purchase order, receipting and invoice matching processes
IOSH Working Safely qualification or similar
Experience working within environments handling high-value or technically sensitive equipment
Awareness of import/export, courier, packing, shipping or transport documentation requirements
