Job Description

Service Care Solutions are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Locum Practice Nurse to join our established General Practice team on a part-time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent Practice Nurse who is confident managing a broad range of treatment room and chronic disease services within a busy primary care environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Cervical cytology (smear tests)
  • Wound assessment, management and dressings
  • Removal of sutures and clips
  • Routine adult and childhood immunisations
  • Administration of injectable medications, including: Vitamin B12, Goserelin, Inclisiran
  • Urinalysis
  • NHS Health Checks
  • Travel health assessments, advice and vaccinations
  • Management and monitoring of long-term conditions, including: Asthma, COPD, Hypertension (including 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring), Diabetes
  • Phlebotomy
  • ECG recording

Requirements

  • Hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Have previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within UK General Practice
  • Be proficient in the use of EMIS Web
  • Be confident managing a treatment room independently
  • Demonstrate excellent clinical, organisational and communication skills
  • Be committed to delivering high standards of patient-centred care
