We are looking for an experienced Dermatologist to join our friendly team who is keen to attain CESR whilst fulfilling our Locum Consultant post on a 24-month fixed term contract. The service and the trust will support completion of your CESR portfolio, and application for a substantive Consultant role in the future. This post offers an opportunity for continued practice and experience in a wide range of dermatology conditions, including clinics for Suspected Cancer, Systemic Diseases, Routine Conditions, Lesions, Paediatrics and Skin Surgery. Other clinical workload includes inpatient referrals and reviews, providing advice and guidance to primary care and administrative virtual clinics. Attendance at Local MDT and Joint Plastics clinic is included in the job plan together with support for RSM education sessions.
Job Responsibility:
Multidisciplinary team working
Providing evidence-based care for patients in a multidisciplinary setting
Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care
Development of sub-specialty interests that fit in with departmental needs and the strategic direction of the Trust
Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties
Provision of cover for Consultant colleagues periods of leave
Participation in Quality Improvement and in continuing medical education
Conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances
Requirements:
Fully registered with the GMC
CCT (or equivalent for non-UK applicants of equivalent status), or be accredited (or equivalent), and be on the GMC Specialist Register in Dermatology at the time of taking up the consultant appointment. Alternatively, candidates can be within 6 months of their CCT at interview
MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Clinical training/experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT
Expertise in full range of Dermatological conditions
Ability to lead a multi-professional team and take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Sub-speciality interests in line with the needs of the department will be supported
Demonstrable ability to manage priorities
Experience of QI, audit and management
Evidence of management/leadership skills training
Nice to have:
Wide NHS experience, particularly within the field of Skin Cancer
