Job Description:

There has never been a better time to join Aurizon’s Coppabella Depot! The depot has evolved over the last couple of years with the leadership team engaging with the crew to develop an improved roster and uplift payment in recognition of living regionally. We are currently seeking qualified drivers to join the rapidly expanding crew at Coppabella. These roles will be suited to individuals who are able to display superior teamwork skills, flexibility, demonstrate personal accountability for their safety and are committed to superior customer service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Contribute to continuous performance improvement
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's award and other industrial agreements relevant to the position of Locomotive Driver
  • Provide excellent customer service

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations
  • Experience in QLD Safe working Systems
  • Ideally hold route competencies in the Goonyella system
  • Current unrestricted Class C drivers’ licence
  • A strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift work roster including availability to work weekends
  • Commitment to Aurizon values and a willingness to embrace a diverse work environment
