Job Description:

Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our Berrimah depot in Darwin. As a Locomotive Driver with Aurizon - Bulk Central, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating locomotives, ensuring the smooth transport of freight across our extensive rail network. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious team, striving for operational excellence and maintaining the highest service standards.

Job Responsibility:

Operation of locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
Maintain a high level of on-time running
Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives

Requirements:

Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe.”
Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster
Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA) is advantageous
Experience operating air brake
Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
A Certificate IV in Rail Operations
Current unrestricted driver’s licence
Ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as driving history checks, reference checks, and a CAT 1 Rail medical

Nice to have:

Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA)
