Job Description

Aurizon is currently seeking a qualified Locomotive Driver based in Mackay or Rockhampton. This opportunity is open to experienced Locomotive Drivers looking to join a company that genuinely values its people and offers a rewarding and supportive working environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Working with the Network IML Project team
  • Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
  • Provide high quality customer service to support business objectives

Requirements

  • Must be available to work a 24/7 shift roster
  • Must be available to travel away from home for periods of up to 10 days for project works across the CQCN
  • CQCN route experience preferred but not essential
  • Experience in QLD Safeworking System advantageous
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
  • Certificate IV in Rail Operations
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across teams
  • Current unrestricted Class C driver's licence

Nice to have

  • CQCN route experience
  • Experience in QLD Safeworking System
