Job Description

Aurizon is seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to join our Dry Creek depot in Adelaide, South Australia. As a Locomotive Driver with Aurizon - Bulk Central, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating locomotives, ensuring the smooth transport of freight across our extensive rail network. You will work within a supportive, safety-conscious team, striving for operational excellence and maintaining the highest service standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Operation of locomotives, including mainline, shunting, and marshalling
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of on-time running
  • Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives
  • Provide high-quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to safety and Aurizon’s safety strategy “I Know Safe, I Choose Safe.”
  • Availability to work a 24/7 shift roster
  • Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA, VIC, NT) is advantageous
  • Experience operating air brake
  • Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience
  • A Certificate IV in Rail Operations
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence
  • The ability to successfully pass pre-employment checks such as driving history checks, reference checks, and a CAT 1 Rail medical

Experience working with ARTC Code of Practice & Safe Working systems (SA, WA, VIC, NT)
