Job Description

Airswift is seeking a Local Representative (Local candidates) to work in Kingston, Jamaica, in a permanent position with a company focused on developing advanced technologies to remove plastic pollution from oceans and rivers. The Local Representative will serve as the liaison between local partners, the Project Manager, and the Central Operations Manager, who are based at the company’s headquarters. With a technical background and experience in project management, this professional will lead the portion of the project related to data collection, focusing on the effectiveness of the barrier and operations at the Port of Kingston, and possibly at other locations in Jamaica.

Job Responsibility

  • Support data collection efforts through conducting research experiments
  • Support the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of monitoring equipment
  • Coordinate the implementation of research activities in Jamaica among our local partners, contractors, and various company departments
  • Analyze and report results to various teams
  • Regular visits to the Interceptors to monitor barrier performance and operations
  • Collect feedback and participate in project meetings
  • Local representation with partners, contractors, and authorities

Requirements

  • Relevant technical training (e.g., marine science, geomatics)
  • Experience in project coordination
  • Work experience in Jamaica and knowledge of key stakeholders is highly desirable
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience with monitoring structures, report writing and evaluation

  • Act as a line manager for the local IT team
  • Represent the unit towards IT (single point of contact for IT) and GF IT
  • Act as the local platform owner in Servicenow, i.e., ensure CMDB database integrity for local assets in the central ITIL system
  • Ensure and participate in support & management of local IT infrastructure/operations on daily basis, according to locally agreed service times & SLAs
  • Ensure that local IT team has organized itself to manage incidents, changes & requests assigned to it in Servicenow and / or in other agreed support channels
  • Coordinate team’s tasks ensuring delivery, performance and security of local IT infrastructure/operations, aligned with global or group level policies
  • Collaborate closely with local Operations in the area of IT-OT
  • Develop, own and align local IT roadmap with global/central IT roadmaps to ensure coherent overall planning of local activities
  • Adhere to global guidelines and ensure close collaboration with global IT function as well as with Group IT, being an active player in both cases
