Job Description

Our client, a leading Special District law firm in the Denver metro area is looking for a 5 plus years special district or real estate transactional attorney to support their very busy local government clients. This position offers substantive, hands-on legal work across a range of local government matters, with partner guidance and a clear path to partnership.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and memoranda
  • Advise boards, councils, and public entities
  • Work directly with clients and professional consultants
  • Participate in meetings with governing bodies
  • Occasional travel throughout Colorado and some evening meetings with client boards and councils

Requirements

  • Licensed attorney in Colorado, in good standing
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or similar setting with experience in real estate or special district law
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience serving as general counsel to special districts or municipal entities is preferred for this position
  • Background in real estate, land use, or related regulatory work
  • Comfort working directly with boards, councils, or public bodies
  • Active license to practice law in Colorado and in good standing
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or similar environment, with a focus on real estate or special district law
  • Proven ability to serve as general counsel to special districts, municipalities, or similar entities
  • Background in real estate, land use, or regulatory compliance is strongly preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work directly with boards, councils, and public bodies
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment

Nice to have

  • Experience serving as general counsel to special districts or municipal entities is preferred for this position
  • Background in real estate, land use, or regulatory compliance is strongly preferred
