The Southend Echo and Thurrock Gazette is looking for an outstanding reporter to lead political coverage within one of Newsquest’s fastest‑growing newsrooms, as part of the Local Democracy Reporting Scheme. You’ll join a highly respected team known for breaking agenda‑setting council stories and play a vital role in supporting the BBC’s public‑interest journalism programme. In this role, you’ll cover Southend Council and Thurrock Council and work on some of the region’s biggest news stories.
