Job Description:

Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) - Lancashire Children's Services. Are you a seasoned safeguarding professional with the confidence to manage complex allegations? Lancashire Children's Services is looking for an experienced LADO to join our dedicated Safeguarding, Inspection and Audit team. In this pivotal role, you will be the point of contact for managing allegations against individuals working with children. You'll provide the expert oversight and professional judgement necessary to ensure that every child in Lancashire is protected by safe practice and accountable professionals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage allegations where adults working with children are suspected of harm or maltreatment
  • Work closely with partner agencies (Police, Education, Health) to ensure a coordinated and effective response to safeguarding concerns
  • Offer sound professional guidance to employers and voluntary organizations regarding their safeguarding responsibilities
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of safeguarding practices across the county

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in a Local Authority safeguarding environment, specifically within the LADO framework
  • BA in social work
  • Be able to manage challenging situations
  • Experience in Children services
