Join our team at The Portlaoise Plaza as a Full-time Lobby Supervisor and be a vital part of creating memorable coffee experiences for our valued customers. Please note this is not a part-time or occasional role. Candidates must be available for a flexible work schedule: Monday to Sunday. The Lobby Supervisor provides ongoing support to the Management Team to ensure customers receive the best quality, service, and cleanliness each time they visit the store. They must interact with customers, staff, and management in a friendly and efficient manner to achieve this result. The Lobby Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Lobby Team to ensure that all operations within the lobby and public areas are carried out efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company standards. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment at all times and ensuring that all assigned tasks are completed to the highest standard. Responsibilities include ensuring that tables and seating areas are clean and free from spillages, bins are emptied regularly, floors are kept clean and dry, and all public areas and toilets remain clean, fully stocked, and presentable throughout operating hours. The Lobby Supervisor is expected to perform all responsibilities in full compliance with the training and operational procedures provided. In addition, they must ensure that all team members adhere to the same standards, following established training, health, and safety protocols at all times.

Job Responsibility

  • Greet and engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcome and valued at all times
  • Assist customers as needed, including helping with buggies, wheelchairs, and trays, while maintaining a helpful and approachable attitude
  • Offer informed and creative suggestions about menu items to enhance the customer experience and encourage sales
  • Supervise and coordinate the Lobby Team to ensure all areas — including tables, seating areas, floors, bins, and toilets — are consistently clean, tidy, and safe throughout operating hours
  • Maintain a strong focus on floor safety and ensure all spillages or hazards are addressed immediately
  • Ensure the lobby and serving areas are properly set up, stocked, and presented at all times
  • Monitor staff performance, delegate cleaning and maintenance duties, and ensure all team members adhere to company standards and hygiene procedures
  • Conduct regular checks of public areas and restrooms to ensure cleanliness, adequate stock levels, and compliance with hygiene and safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction with both food and service, addressing any issues promptly and professionally
  • Respond to customer feedback and escalate any unresolved complaints or operational concerns to the Duty Manager or Store Manager
  • Liaise with management and colleagues to ensure efficient customer flow and smooth service during busy periods
  • Support training and onboarding of new lobby staff to ensure consistent service and adherence to brand standards
  • Take pride in creating a positive, enjoyable atmosphere for both customers and team members, representing the company with professionalism and enthusiasm
