Job Description:

By joining this desk, you will be responsible for trading the Par loan space. You will also be expected to lead and support on projects to enhance the existing trading strategies by incorporating additional instruments and dynamic procedures.

Job Responsibility:

  • Trading the Par loan space
  • Leading and supporting projects to enhance existing trading strategies
  • Flashing the P&L
  • Signing off the P&L
  • Capturing and articulating all risks
  • Establishing and maintaining key relationships
  • Liaising with sales to develop the franchise
  • Using and developing trading dashboards
  • Working with control functions to ensure governance and control infrastructure
  • Assessing risk when making business decisions

Requirements:

  • Proven history of successful trading book management
  • Experience of trading High Yield names
  • Experience of working closely with Sales, Research, and other organizations across Markets
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities
  • Python, VBA, Bloomberg & Excel would be advantageous but not required
  • Must be assessed as Fit and Proper under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime

  • Work closely with Corporate, Leverage Finance, Financial Institutions Group, Real Assets and Funds Finance origination teams from an early stage to support mandate acquisition and optimal transaction structuring
  • Provide authoritative market insight on pricing, structure, terms and investor appetite to ensure successful distribution across underwritten, best-efforts and club transactions
  • Lead and execute primary loan syndications where the firm has an active or lead distribution role, including bookrunning and coordination of other banks when acting as Global Coordinator
  • Promote underwriting solutions where appropriate, balancing client objectives, market conditions, execution risk and balance sheet considerations
