Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Loan Processor to join our team in Sunnyvale, California. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of real estate loans while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with team members and applicants to deliver an exceptional lending experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review loan applications to ensure all required information and documentation are complete and accurate
  • Verify and validate supporting documents such as income statements, credit reports, appraisals, and title work
  • Input loan details into the organization's system, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Communicate proactively with loan officers, underwriters, and applicants to facilitate smooth loan processing
  • Address member inquiries and provide clear guidance throughout the loan process
  • Ensure all loan files meet organizational policies as well as state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate with the lending team to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency
  • Monitor loan progress and provide regular updates to management on application status and key metrics
  • Generate detailed reports on loan processing activities, including timelines, volumes, and pending applications
  • Participate in training sessions to stay current on compliance requirements and industry practices

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 2 years of experience in residential loan processing, preferably in a credit union or community bank setting
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage loan program guidelines, including VA and conventional loans
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication, ensuring clarity and professionalism
  • Familiarity with loan origination software and standard office applications such as Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of compliance regulations and guidelines within the lending industry

Nice to have:

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous experience in mortgage processing, closing, lending, or origination is highly desirable
