Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Loan Processor - Support specialist to join a busy lending team in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who brings recent hands-on experience in mortgage or banking operations and can provide dependable support to loan officers in a fast-paced environment. The role combines on-site collaboration Monday through Thursday with remote work on Fridays, offering a balanced schedule while helping ensure loan files move forward accurately and efficiently.

Job Responsibility

  • Support loan officers by managing loan files and helping keep mortgage and lending activities on track from intake through closing
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, following established guidelines to identify missing items and resolve issues quickly
  • Process key loan-related tasks tied to mortgage, consumer, and commercial lending workflows, including payoffs and related administrative activities
  • Communicate with internal partners and stakeholders to gather required information, maintain file progress, and support timely decisions
  • Track multiple loans at different stages while maintaining organized records and meeting expected turnaround times
  • Perform verification steps and compliance-related checks as part of the loan processing cycle, including required documentation review
  • Assist with closing support and final file preparation to help ensure transactions are ready for completion
  • Contribute to day-to-day loan administration functions and provide reliable operational coverage for the lending team.

Requirements

  • Recent experience in loan processing within a bank, mortgage company, or similar lending environment
  • Working knowledge of mortgage processing, loan administration, and loan origination activities
  • Familiarity with mortgage closing support and the documentation required throughout the lending process
  • Ability to manage a high volume of detail while staying organized and meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with loan officers and internal teams
  • Willingness to complete background screening and a credit check as part of the hiring process
  • Availability to work on-site in Atlanta, Georgia Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.

  • Maintain an active portfolio of loan files by updating tracking tools, organizing digital documentation, and ensuring records are properly stored across internal shared folders and cloud-based systems
  • Partner with lenders and title companies to coordinate commercial loan closings, confirming that title conditions and other required items are completed before funding
  • Review closing packages for completeness, finalize documentation prior to settlement, and submit loan booking requests once all required materials have been received
  • Prepare comprehensive loan files for closing and process wire request documentation in support of funding activities
  • Track reporting data related to organizational requirements and work closely with Loan Operations to support accurate loan reporting and system records
  • Follow monthly exception and tickler reports to pursue recorded documents, insurance or policy requirements, and any outstanding post-closing items in a timely manner
  • Oversee active pipelines for new loans, renewals, letters of credit, and filing continuations while coordinating updates with loan officers and lending partners
  • Respond to servicing and operational inquiries, resolve routine loan issues, and process both financial and non-financial loan maintenance requests, including debit and credit transactions with awareness of general ledger impact
  • Contribute to team collaboration through meetings, cross-training, and coverage support during high-volume periods while adhering to regulatory standards and internal banking policies
