We are looking for a detail-oriented and driven Loan Officer to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping businesses secure funding by leveraging your expertise in loan products and business development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to build strong community relationships while guiding clients through the loan process.
Job Responsibility:
Identify, qualify, and secure new small business clients seeking loans
Build and maintain relationships with referral sources such as bankers, realtors, CPAs, attorneys, and community leaders
Develop an in-depth understanding of various loan products, including SBA 504, SBA 7(a), and Microloan Programs, as well as local loan initiatives
Educate small business owners and referral partners on the benefits of the organization's loan products and advisory services
Meet or exceed annual loan production goals by effectively managing loan requests from origination to approval
Negotiate terms, structure loan projects, and secure approvals from loan committees and funding sources while adhering to credit policies and procedures
Conduct site visits to evaluate collateral and identify potential risks, documenting findings appropriately
Work with senior leadership to address issues in existing loan relationships and develop actionable solutions
Collaborate with marketing peers to promote the organization’s mission and loan products to the community
Build partnerships with industry professionals and engage with local business development organizations to foster growth
Requirements:
Proven experience in loan underwriting, administration, and small business lending
Strong knowledge of SBA loan programs, including SBA 504 and SBA 7(a), as well as community development block grants
Proficiency in reviewing business plans, financial statements, appraisals, and environmental reports
Skilled in negotiating loan terms, contracts, and pricing with clients and partners
Familiarity with financial software tools such as QuickBooks, including Enterprise and Pro versions
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with clients and referral sources
Ability to conduct thorough site visits and assess collateral for potential risks
Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple loan projects simultaneously
