Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Loan Closer - Support specialist to join our Financial Services team. This contract opportunity with potential for a long-term role is ideal for someone who can manage post-closing activities with accuracy, maintain organized loan documentation, and support timely file completion. The person in this role will help safeguard loan quality by reviewing records, resolving documentation gaps, and ensuring files meet internal and external standards.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct thorough post-closing reviews for mortgage loans to verify documents are accurate, complete, and ready for sale or portfolio retention
  • Examine title work, recorded mortgage packages, and trailing documents, then categorize and index materials correctly for file maintenance
  • Monitor outstanding conditions and missing paperwork, following up with the appropriate parties to obtain needed items promptly
  • Enter and upload finalized loan documents into applicable loan origination and imaging platforms while maintaining organized records
  • Coordinate the delivery of collateral packages to investors or secure storage locations based on file requirements
  • Maintain daily status reporting for open post-closing items and elevate aged exceptions that remain unresolved beyond established timeframes
  • Apply bank procedures, investor rules, and regulatory standards throughout the post-closing process to support compliant loan files

Requirements

  • Prior experience supporting mortgage closing, post-closing, or loan documentation processes within a financial services environment
  • Working knowledge of mortgage loan files, including recorded documents, title policies, and trailing documentation
  • Experience using loan origination or mortgage processing systems, including familiarity with Encompass
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple files and follow up on outstanding items consistently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documentation and maintaining records
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to resolve file deficiencies
  • Understanding of compliance expectations related to bank policy, investor requirements, and mortgage documentation standards
