Job Description

Based at GrainCorp’s manufacturing site in Numurkah, we are seeking an enthusiastic and focused Loading Operator to join the Logistics team. Working in a team the purpose of this role is to ensure the loading and unloading of all food grade bulk oil and meal (animal feed) deliveries are completed – using your initiative to direct trucks to the right destination, whilst continually providing a high level of customer service.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure the loading and unloading of all food grade bulk oil and meal (animal feed) deliveries are completed
  • Direct trucks to the right destination
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Deal with external customers, suppliers and transport drivers as well as internal stakeholders in the Quality, Maintenance, Refinery, Production and SHE teams
  • Provide support in weighbridge operations, sampling, inspecting tankers
  • Be responsible for general housekeeping combined with a high regard for hygiene

Requirements

  • Forklift licence – preferred
  • Bobcat and Loader Licence – desirable
  • Microsoft Office – Excel – intermediate level
  • Experience within the warehousing and/or transport environment
  • Solid background within a Logistics role
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to articulate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to take action, solve problems and work autonomously as well as in a supportive team environment

Nice to have

  • Forklift licence – preferred
  • Bobcat and Loader Licence – desirable

  • Perform minor routine and preventative maintenance such as alignment adjustments, replacement of machine parts or belts, cleaning and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Reconcile headcount needed on a per shift basis based on schedule production demands
  • Perform scheduled quality checks, disposition product, identify any deviations that may occur and take the appropriate action to include stopping production on the machine if necessary
  • Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards are being met
  • Complete batch/code changes, tank changes, as well as sub lots as needed
  • Document required information on manufacturing logs and/or POMS system
  • Investigate, identify and correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine's performance including mechanical wear, alignment, adjustment, and setup issues
  • Develop standard work for troubleshooting and setups/changeovers
