As a Livestock Truck Driver at Canada Packers, you will play a key role in the humane and responsible transportation of livestock (pigs) between our manufacturing facilities.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring the humane transportation of livestock (pigs) in accordance with animal welfare standards and guidelines
Strictly following all biosecurity rules and policies
Performing daily pre-trip and regular truck/trailer inspections
Reporting all maintenance or mechanical concerns to the supervisor
Maintaining a clean, organized tractor/trailer unit at all times
Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time
Working flexible hours, including some weekends, based on operational needs
Operating in extreme temperatures ranging from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius
Requirements:
Valid Class 1A Driver’s License with a favorable Driver’s Abstract
Minimum 1 year of experience driving with a Class 1A license
3–5 years of truck/trailer experience preferred
Minimum 1 year of livestock handling experience
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and extreme weather
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
Nice to have:
3–5 years of truck/trailer experience
