Job Description:

As a Livestock Truck Driver at Canada Packers, you will play a key role in the humane and responsible transportation of livestock (pigs) between our manufacturing facilities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring the humane transportation of livestock (pigs) in accordance with animal welfare standards and guidelines
  • Strictly following all biosecurity rules and policies
  • Performing daily pre-trip and regular truck/trailer inspections
  • Reporting all maintenance or mechanical concerns to the supervisor
  • Maintaining a clean, organized tractor/trailer unit at all times
  • Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Working flexible hours, including some weekends, based on operational needs
  • Operating in extreme temperatures ranging from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1A Driver’s License with a favorable Driver’s Abstract
  • Minimum 1 year of experience driving with a Class 1A license
  • 3–5 years of truck/trailer experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of livestock handling experience
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and extreme weather
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application

3–5 years of truck/trailer experience
