We’re on the lookout for a Transmission Live Work Supervisor to join our transmission team at Northpower. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll supervise, coordinate, and direct our field resources and equipment to deliver successful project outcomes. From planning through to execution, you’ll play a key part in ensuring Live Work is delivered safely and to the highest standards.
Job Responsibility:
Support Project Managers and Design Estimators with estimating, pre-work scoping, and the development and review of work methodologies
Participate in job handover and closeout meetings to ensure smooth project transitions
Lead job pre-planning and deliver clear job briefs, ensuring all work is thoroughly planned, with risks, contingencies, safety, environmental, and other influencing factors identified
Review job requirements including materials, plant, contractors, and labour availability in line with scope and scheduling
Conduct site visits to monitor progress against timelines, ensure compliance with scope, and maintain high standards of workmanship and completeness
Ensure all field documentation is accurately completed and submitted on time
Contribute to job reviews, capturing lessons learned and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Ensure accurate capture of customer GIS and as-built data
Verify all required testing is completed in accordance with standards and specifications
Prepare and submit all reports accurately and within required timeframes
Requirements:
New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Trade (Electricity Supply) – Level 4, or New Zealand Certificate of Electrical Engineering Level 5 or equivalent
Current EWRB practising licence
Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice, Policies, Standards, Work Procedures, Legislative requirements and the relevant Parts of the Safety Manual – Electricity Industry (SE-MI)
Experience supervising or leading teams in a Transmission Lines environment
Strong focus on health, safety, and quality standards
Proven ability to coordinate people, resources, and equipment
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities
