A Principal couple, and their three adult children, based in Surrey, are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Live-out Housekeeper to join their informal country property, currently undergoing a long-term renovation project. The role requires someone with a meticulous eye for detail, a passion for cleaning, and a positive, can-do attitude. This is a long term opportunity, as the current Housekeeper is retiring after 12 years with the family. Along with their grown up children (no childcare required) the house includes two cats and one elderly dog. Applicants must be animal friendly and comfortable working in a busy household with grounds and garden staff, a PA, and regular contractors on site. No travel or cooking duties are required. The position is four days a week, Monday – Thursday; but the family would also consider three days a week.
Job Responsibility:
Daily cleaning and housekeeping of the property to the highest standard
Laundry and ironing
Care and upkeep of art pieces, furnishings and fine fabrics
Household organisation, ensuring rooms and storage areas are tidy
Managing grocery deliveries and assisting with errands, including dry cleaning
Flexibility to help with additional duties, e.g., clearing rooms, moving boxes, support during renovations
Managing household cleaning supplies and shopping for cleaning products
Liaising with the PA, grounds and garden staff and contractors when needed
Taking guidance from the Principals and PA to ensure smooth running
Requirements:
Strong previous housekeeping experience in a HNW/UHNW household
A meticulous cleaner with excellent attention to detail
Respectful of family time, able to “read the room”
Proactive, with a positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic
Animal friendly and comfortable around pets
Strong communication skills and fluent English speaker
A valid driving licence with access to own car (essential)
