Job Description

Live-in position providing continuous support in a well-established care package. Two live-in carers on shift together at all times to support a gentleman with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS), who is functionally paralysed from the neck down. Focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred complex care, supporting comfort, dignity, communication, and daily routines within the client’s own home.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with washing, dressing, showering, and full personal care
  • Support safe moving and handling using specialist equipment (2 carers required)
  • Support communication, including non-verbal and eye gaze methods
  • Deliver pressure care and regular repositioning
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring, and respectful presence
  • Ensure comfort, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
  • Observe, record, and report any changes in health or presentation
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, well-organised home
  • Observe and record the client’s health status
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Maintain a safe and clean living environment
  • Ensure confidentiality
  • Support medication routines as directed
  • Communicate clearly with the wider care team and family
