Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Live-in Butler to support a private Principal at a beautiful estate near Ramatuelle in St.Tropez. This is a prestigious and hands-on role requiring someone with a quiet presence, a deep understanding of formal service, and the ability to deliver excellence with discretion and confidence. The successful candidate will bring a calm and unflappable demeanour, strong emotional intelligence, and the ability to seamlessly switch between front-of-house hosting and behind-the-scenes logistics.

Job Responsibility

  • Silver service for daily meals and formal events
  • Greeting guests and overseeing the smooth running of gatherings (small and large)
  • Liaising with chefs on menus and dietary preferences, including for travel
  • Packing and unpacking for the Principal and assisting with luggage organisation
  • Coordinating restaurant bookings and managing local errands
  • Occasional driving duties – must be confident with high-performance vehicles
  • General support across the household – flexibility and team spirit are vital
  • Accompanying the Principal during travel (Europe and beyond)

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar private roles, ideally with proven longevity
  • Fluent in English
  • EU Passport/Right to work in France
  • A clean valid driving licence
  • Experienced in formal service and household protocol
  • Discreet, emotionally intelligent, and able to ‘read the room’
  • A confident host and problem-solver who remains calm under pressure
  • Professional, polished, and highly organised
  • Trustworthy and loyal with verifiable references
