A highly respected East Bay law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their team on a contract basis, with strong potential for contract-to-hire if a good fit on both ends. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with three senior attorneys at a firm known for its sophisticated civil litigation practice.
Job Responsibility:
E-filing in California state and federal courts
Managing and maintaining litigation calendars (court deadlines, hearings, depositions)
Drafting, formatting, and proofreading pleadings and correspondence
Preparing and updating Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (TOCs/TOAs)
Coordinating service of process and filings
Organizing and maintaining case files (electronic and physical)
Communicating with court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel as needed
Requirements:
3+ years of litigation secretary experience
Strong knowledge of California court rules and e-filing procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word formatting expertise required)
Experience with Clio
Experience with TOCs/TOAs and complex legal document formatting
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
