Our client, a well‑known and respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to support multiple attorneys in a fully remote environment. This role supports insurance defense and employment defense matters and is ideal for a highly organized legal support professional who can manage competing deadlines, work independently, and maintain precision in a fast‑paced litigation practice.
Job Responsibility:
Provide comprehensive litigation and administrative support to multiple attorneys simultaneously
Draft, revise, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
Handle state and federal court e‑filing, including monitoring filing deadlines, confirming acceptance, and resolving filing issues
Maintain and manage complex attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial schedules
Track deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules, local rules, and internal procedures
Assist with discovery processes, including preparing shells, organizing exhibits, and managing incoming and outgoing discovery
Coordinate service of process, subpoenas, and filings with courts, vendors, and opposing counsel
Manage and organize electronic case files, documents, and correspondence in a remote environment
Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and internal teams
Provide general administrative support including time entry, expense submissions, and attorney support as needed
Requirements:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a litigation secretary supporting multiple attorneys
Prior experience with insurance defense and employment defense matters strongly preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with state and federal e‑filing systems
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology
Advanced document formatting skills in Microsoft Word and other legal software
Excellent calendaring skills with proven ability to manage multiple deadlines accurately
High level of attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and manage workload proactively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced litigation environment
