Job Description

A real estate law firm is seeking a Litigation Secretary / Paralegal to join their team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a dynamic litigation practice with responsibilities across secretarial, legal research, and administrative functions. The position will be primarily onsite in Encino, with the flexibility of one remote day per week.

Job Responsibility

  • E-filing with state and federal courts
  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule deadlines, and coordinate hearings and meetings (experience with MyCase or similar systems preferred)
  • Support a 3 to 1 desk
  • Draft, prepare, and format pleadings, motions, oppositions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Create templates and standard forms based on attorney guidance
  • Assist with both litigation and transactional matters as needed

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Litigation Secretary (paralegal experience a plus, but role is secretary-focused)
  • Proficiency in e-filing and case management software (MyCase preferred, other systems welcome)
  • Strong knowledge of court filing procedures, calendaring, and litigation processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under tight deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
