Job Description

A growing, full-service law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Partner to lead and further develop a sophisticated litigation practice within a key regional market. This is a leadership-oriented role offering a high degree of autonomy, firmwide support for practice growth, and the ability to shape the future direction of a mature litigation platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and expand a complex litigation practice with a focus on insurance-related matters and high-exposure disputes
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including early case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, coverage analysis, trial preparation, and resolution
  • Serve as lead counsel in courtroom appearances, depositions, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and coverage interpretation
  • Handle a diverse and challenging caseload with a high degree of independence
  • Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and contribute to the professional development of the litigation team
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on strategic initiatives, practice growth, and operational planning
  • Remain current on legal developments, industry trends, and best practices affecting litigation and insurance law

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the New York State Bar
  • 10+ years of litigation experience, with substantial experience in insurance defense and insurance coverage litigation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and technology
