We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join a respected law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex civil defense litigation cases, including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, liability matters, and commercial disputes. Job Responsibility:
Assist attorneys in all stages of case preparation, including discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial activities
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring efficient access to documents and evidence
Draft and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses for state and federal courts, including electronic filing
Prepare subpoenas, deposition summaries, exhibit lists, and trial binders to support litigation efforts
Coordinate communication with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression
Provide support during mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including managing witness files and exhibit preparation
Track billable hours and manage time entries for legal matters
Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
Conduct legal research to assist attorneys in building strong case strategies
Requirements:
At least 2-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, particularly in defense work for complex cases
Proficiency in case management software, e-filing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated experience in legal billing and time entry processes
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation
Paralegal certification or equivalent experience preferred
Familiarity with both state and federal court systems, including electronic filing procedures
