Job Description:

Robert Half Legal is seeking a highly experienced Litigation Paralegal with 5-7 years of experience to join a thriving legal team in Houston, Texas, on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a proven track record of handling cases from file inception to trial.

Job Responsibility:

Manage cases from start to finish, including file organization, discovery, trial preparation, and trial execution
Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses
Handle e-filing in state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines
Support attorneys with all trial preparation, including creating trial binders, coordinating witness and exhibit materials, and managing courtroom logistics
Conduct fact-finding investigations, organize evidence, and assist in reviewing and interpreting case documents
Communicate with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court representatives
Perform legal research to support case strategy and assist with deposition preparation
Monitor deadlines and maintain an organized litigation calendar

Requirements:

5-7 years of proven experience as a paralegal specializing in litigation
Paralegal certificate or equivalent education/training required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong knowledge of legal processes and procedures, particularly in trial preparation and courtroom support
Proficiency in e-filing within state and federal court systems
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
Advanced drafting skills and thorough attention to detail
Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software preferred
