A San Francisco based law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join its team on a fully remote, temporary basis for approximately 3–6 months. This role is ideal for a litigation support professional who is comfortable operating independently within a fast-paced litigation environment and can assist attorneys across multiple phases of active state and federal matters. The position blends substantive litigation paralegal responsibilities with high-level litigation support and legal secretarial functions, requiring strong organizational skills, calendaring accuracy, and experience managing filing workflows from start to finish.
Job Responsibility:
Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation in active California state and federal matters
Draft, review, organize, and respond to written discovery and related litigation documents
Prepare substantive motion shells and filing-ready pleadings for attorney review
Compile, organize, and prepare exhibits for filings, discovery, motions, and depositions
Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities (TOC/TOA)
Manage litigation calendars, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and filing procedures
Coordinate and process California state and federal e-filings, including service and filing logistics
Organize and index large volumes of case documents and maintain litigation files
Assist with cite-checking, formatting, proofreading, and finalization of litigation documents
Support attorneys with overall litigation workflow management in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of direct litigation experience within a law firm environment
Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures, rules, and filing requirements
Experience with litigation calendaring, deadline tracking, and e-filing platforms
Hands-on experience preparing litigation documents, exhibits, and filing assemblies
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing deadlines
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
