Our client, a leading Denver law firm is seeking a Paralegal to support the Litigation practice group in our Denver office. We are seeking a paralegal with 5+ years litigation experience to join the Litigation team in Denver.
Job Responsibility:
Utilize technical databases to search and retrieve supporting documents, exercising independent decision-making as well as making appropriate recommendations to the supervising attorney
Create, manage, and accurately check document productions in litigation discovery process
Conduct research online and within case materials, retrieving and compiling information in an organized manner
Arrange and manage third-party service and subpoena processes
Operate trial presentation software in hearings and trials, including exhibit presentation and tracking
Prepares or assists in drafting and finalizing legal documents
Manage and maintain document organization and case files, hard copy and electronic
Assist in hearing and trial preparation, including drafting testimony outlines and exhibit lists, compiling documents to be utilized as exhibits, and preparing hearing, trial, and testimony notebooks
Prepare documents with strong attention to formatting, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required
A certificate of completion from a Paralegal school or institute is preferred
5 years of litigation experience required
Experience operating trial presentation software in courtroom settings strongly preferred
Skill in the use of software systems specific to your legal department with a strong preference for experience using Relativity and Trial Director
Skill in the use of software systems such as Word, DMS, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Ability to organize, prepare and maintain detailed records and reports, setting up and organizing case databases, creating checklists and other records
Proficiency with trial presentation software, such as Trial Director, is highly desirable
Familiarity with legal research tools, including Relativity, is strongly preferred
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Nice to have:
Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is preferred
Experience operating trial presentation software in courtroom settings strongly preferred
Skill in the use of software systems specific to your legal department with a strong preference for experience using Relativity and Trial Director
Proficiency with trial presentation software, such as Trial Director, is highly desirable
