Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage litigation support through all phases of the case, such as filing complaints, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Oversee and organize case files to ensure consistency and accessibility
Draft and prepare legal documents, including proofreading, cite-checking, and ensuring compliance with relevant court rules and procedures
Assist in managing and supporting e-discovery and document review processes, leveraging advanced e-discovery platforms
Conduct research on case-specific information, such as court rules, standing orders, and procedural guidelines
Actively participate in trial teams with potential travel to trial locations for extended periods, requiring substantial time commitment and adaptability
Mentor and supervise team members, fostering growth and skills development while overseeing quality control of their work
Coordinate tasks with attorneys and other staff to meet deadlines proactively while managing competing priorities
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a certificate from a recognized two-year paralegal program
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a paralegal or equivalent legal support role
Leadership experience managing small litigation matters or serving as the primary point of contact for specific case-related tasks is highly desirable
Background in litigation, product liability, commercial disputes, intellectual property, or antitrust litigation is an asset
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw), and legal document management software (e.g., NetDocuments)
Familiarity with e-discovery tools and processes is essential
