We are looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting attorneys with civil litigation matters, legal research, and case preparation. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in legal procedures and a commitment to excellence in the field of law.
Job Responsibility:
Draft and prepare various legal documents, including briefs, motions to dismiss, and motions to change venue
Issue subpoenas and manage the process of obtaining necessary legal documents
Prepare and file summons and other court-related paperwork
Conduct in-depth legal research, utilizing CaseLaw and other resources specific to the jurisdiction
Collaborate with attorneys to organize and manage discovery processes
Assist with bankruptcy filings and creditor-related cases, ensuring adherence to legal standards
Support litigation efforts involving residential real estate and mortgage lending matters
Manage court filings and ensure that all documentation is submitted accurately and on time
Maintain close communication with legal teams to ensure seamless case management
Requirements:
Proven experience in civil litigation and legal document preparation
Familiarity with drafting motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Strong knowledge of discovery procedures and court filing processes
Certification as a paralegal is strongly preferred
Experience with bankruptcy filings and creditor-related cases is a plus
Knowledge of residential real estate and mortgage lending legal matters
Proficiency in legal research tools and jurisdiction-specific CaseLaw
