Bowditch is seeking an experienced paralegal for our Litigation Practice Area. The paralegal assists and supports the attorneys in the practice in all phases of litigation from inception through discovery and trial. This position may reside in either our Southborough or Worcester office. The role offers a hybrid schedule of 4 in office days and 1 remote day per week and is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Job Responsibility:
Drafting of pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and correspondence
Working directly with clients to compile documents and discovery responses
Managing all aspects of the discovery process
Assisting in all aspects of trial preparation, including preparing trial binders
Conducting research on factual topics related to cases
Working directly with attorneys in docketing court dates and deadlines
Attending trials and acting as an assistant to the attorney during the court proceedings (when required)
Maintaining litigation files, reviewing and preparing material for storage or disposal once a case has closed
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
Other related duties as required
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience in a litigation or similar practice area
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
Time management and multitasking abilities
Strong communication skills including strong research and writing skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office and/or learn new computer programs
A professional attitude and approach to client service are essential
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision and also work as part of a larger team
High School diploma or equivalent required
Associate Degree or higher preferred
Paralegal Certification preferred
