The Litigation Paralegal position will provide organizational and practice specific assistance to attorneys in the Department in preparing cases from onset through post-trial, including related research and analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Provide organizational and practice specific assistance to attorneys in preparing cases from onset through post-trial
Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, motions, hearings, arbitration, mediation, and trial
Monitor court dockets and ensure compliance with regulatory agency and court-imposed schedules and orders
Coordinate and track the exchange of documents/productions with opposing parties
Conduct factual research to identify relevant testimony and case documents
Analyze various types of evidence, distilling key information to support case issues
Organize and synthesize information by preparing summaries, chronologies, reports, spreadsheets, charts, logs, and coding forms
Assist with all aspects of the discovery process
Assist with law and motion practice, including assembling motion papers and exhibits
Draft common pleadings, motions, notices, and other court filings
Perform authority and fact cite-checking, confirm case quotes, and proofread briefs and other legal documents
Manage trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules
Assist in the preparation of post-trial filings
Maintain timely and accurate daily timekeeping records
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on litigation
Proficiency in eDiscovery tools and processes
Strong knowledge of Colorado and Federal court rules and procedures
Skilled in legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
Experience with trial preparation, including exhibit management and courtroom support
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Pro, and Windows 10
Experience with Relativity or similar platforms required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Paralegal certification is highly desirable
Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines
Nice to have:
