We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team in the Bay Area, California. In this role, you will provide essential support for trademark litigation matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), a tribunal within the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging intellectual property cases, contributing to motions, discovery, and hearings.
Job Responsibility:
Manage trademark opposition and cancellation cases, including drafting relevant documents and preparing case files
Assist with motions practice, including creating motions to dismiss, summary judgment motions, and discovery-related motions
Handle discovery processes such as preparing interrogatories, submitting document requests, and coordinating depositions
Draft trial briefs, reply briefs, and other legal documents needed for TTAB proceedings
Prepare for and attend oral arguments and hearings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board
Coordinate appeals of trademark application refusals and ensure all required documentation is submitted
Utilize case management software to organize and track case progress efficiently
Collaborate with attorneys to conduct research and gather evidence for complex litigation matters
Ensure compliance with TTAB procedural rules and deadlines
Support trial preparation activities, including organizing exhibits and evidence
Requirements:
Proven experience as a paralegal with a focus on intellectual property or litigation
Strong knowledge of trademark law and TTAB processes
Proficiency in managing discovery tasks, including interrogatories and document requests
Familiarity with motions practice and drafting legal documents
Skilled in using case management software and other legal tools
Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with legal teams
