Job Description:

Robert Half Legal is partnering with a phenomenal boutique law firm located in the loop that's seeking to hire a Litigation Paralegal with at least 3-5+ years of experience to join their team. This Litigation Paralegal will assist lawyers by managing all aspects of large scale, complex construction litigation and arbitration including heavy e-discovery management.

Job Responsibility:

Manage all phases of a litigation case including litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitration, trial, and appellate procedures
Manage very large electronic and hard copy documents collections
Legal and factual cite checking including editing a brief to Blue Book standards
Assist with witness preparation, arbitration, mediation and trial preparation
Attend and assist at trials and arbitrations
Review, organize, and maintain legal documents/briefs/pleadings for all current cases
Identify sources of potentially relevant documents for production
Review records in response to subpoenas or discovery requests and ensure responsive records are properly served and privileged records are properly withheld, and privilege logs are served
Manage and organize e-discovery databases and ensure support staff is able to perform complex searches and review documentation in various e-discovery platforms
Source e-discovery vendors when required and negotiate terms/pricing

Requirements:

Bachelor Degree needed
Paralegal Certificate a plus
3-5+ years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal
Experience in a relevant area of litigation (Commercial, construction, transportation, aviation, etc.)
Proficiency in e-Discovery/ESI software and processes
Knowledge of filing/e-filing procedures for various jurisdictions

Nice to have:

Experience with construction litigation preferred but not necessary
Trial experience highly preferred
