Job Description

A growing, full-service law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support a team of attorneys in its Fort Lauderdale office. This is a unique hybrid role offering exposure to both litigation and transactional matters, with a primary focus on litigation support.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
  • Manage state and federal court filings and deadlines
  • Assist with case management, document organization, and attorney support
  • Coordinate meetings, communicate with clients, and provide administrative assistance as needed
  • Support a team of attorneys across a variety of practice areas
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all matters are handled with a high level of attention to detail

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of legal support experience in a law firm environment
  • Strong litigation experience required
  • exposure to transactional/corporate matters is a plus
  • Knowledge of both Florida state and federal court procedures
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and organized
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, outgoing, and client-service focused demeanor
  • At least 5 years of legal support experience within a law firm setting
  • Demonstrated background in litigation support, including work related to civil litigation and discovery
  • Familiarity with Florida state and federal court procedures and filing requirements
  • Experience using case management software to organize matters and support workflow efficiency
  • Strong trial preparation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a detail-focused, client-focused presence
  • Highly organized, proactive, and dependable, with consistent attention to detail
  • Exposure to transactional or corporate legal work is helpful but not required
