Job Description

A Chicago-based legal practice is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with experience in personal injury matters to support its litigation team. This role is suited for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. The position offers the opportunity to be involved in all stages of case development and trial preparation.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide support to attorneys throughout the lifecycle of personal injury cases, from initial intake through resolution or trial
  • Prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery materials, and routine correspondence
  • Maintain case files and monitor litigation deadlines to ensure timely case progression
  • Schedule and coordinate depositions, court appearances, and related filings
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, healthcare providers, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records, billing statements, and other evidentiary materials
  • Assist with trial readiness, including preparing exhibits, organizing case materials, and coordinating witnesses

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience supporting litigation matters, with a focus in insurance defense, workers compensation, or tort law
  • Strong organizational abilities and careful attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with legal practice tools and standard office software
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated initiative and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities
