We are looking for an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a detail oriented individual who can manage competing priorities, keep litigation matters on track, and provide high-level administrative and document support. The role requires strong judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively across a range of litigation matters in a fast-paced legal environment.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate electronic filing submissions in both state and federal courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules and deadlines
Oversee litigation calendars and docket activity, tracking critical dates and helping attorneys stay ahead of filing and hearing requirements
Support trial readiness by assembling exhibits, preparing binders, organizing case materials, and assisting with witness logistics
Prepare, review, and refine legal correspondence, pleadings, and other case documents, including tables of contents and tables of authorities
Partner with attorneys and legal support staff across multiple matters, adjusting to the demands of different case types and litigation strategies
Process expense reports, reimbursement requests, and payment-related documentation using Chrome River with a high degree of accuracy
Provide day-to-day administrative support for active litigation files, including document organization, file maintenance, and related coordination tasks
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in a litigation secretary role with exposure to a variety of litigation matters
Hands-on knowledge of electronic filing procedures for both state and federal courts
Solid understanding of litigation calendaring and docket management across multiple case types
Experience assisting with trial preparation, including pre-trial support and courtroom-ready materials
Strong capabilities in legal document formatting, proofreading, and preparation of tables of contents and tables of authorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
experience with legal document management platforms such as iManage, ProLaw, or Adobe Acrobat is preferred
Excellent written communication, organization, and multitasking skills, along with close attention to detail
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative legal team environment
