Job Description:

A growing civil litigation law firm in San Jose seeks a motivated Litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. Our practice is dedicated to providing high-quality legal services and building strong client relationships, and we are looking for someone who shares that commitment. This is a great opportunity for a driven legal professional to gain hands-on litigation experience, strengthen technical skills, and work alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative, supportive environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of the civil litigation process
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
  • Assist with case management, calendaring deadlines, and maintaining case files (electronic and physical)
  • Coordinate court filings (both e-filing and physical), service of process, and document production
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings
  • liaise with courts, clients, and experts as needed
  • Conduct basic legal research and support attorneys with trial and hearing preparation
  • Manage client communications with high professionalism and confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting attorneys in civil litigation in a law firm setting
  • Proficient with California court rules and procedures
  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office Suite and document management software
  • Impeccable organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on-site in San Jose

Nice to have:

  • Experience with local court systems is highly desired
  • Employment law experience or familiarity with employment law cases is a plus
