This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative legal team supporting attorneys who handle sophisticated and high-stakes litigation matters. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative and litigation support across several practice areas, with a primary focus on white collar litigation, health care fraud, and commercial litigation. Additional exposure may include product liability, insurance defense, and employment litigation.
Job Responsibility:
Draft, format, proofread, and finalize a wide range of legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, and reports
Prepare and file litigation documents in state and federal courts, including appearances, answers, pretrial motions, and dispositive motions
Coordinate and manage litigation calendars, including court deadlines, depositions, arbitrations, inspections, and trial schedules
Open and maintain case files, perform conflicts checks, and organize litigation profiles and file materials
Track and manage incoming mail, maintain attorney time entries, and submit vendor invoices for payment
Maintain attorney calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, and assist with expense reporting
Review and edit prebills in accordance with client billing guidelines
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience supporting attorneys in complex litigation environments
Experience working in practice areas such as white collar litigation, health care fraud, commercial litigation, product liability, insurance defense, or employment law
Strong familiarity with both Pennsylvania and New Jersey state courts and federal court filing systems, including CM/ECF
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, staff, and clients
Proactive, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Nice to have:
Experience with iManage and ProLaw is a plus
