A well‑established law firm is seeking to hire an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a high‑volume litigation practice in New York City. This position is best suited for a litigation support professional who is highly organized, deadline‑driven, and comfortable managing multiple attorneys in a fast‑paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Support litigation attorneys with daily administrative and case‑related tasks
Draft, edit, and format litigation documents including motions, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery
Handle electronic filings in state and federal courts and track filing confirmations
Maintain and monitor attorney calendars, court deadlines, and litigation schedules
Coordinate depositions, hearings, and meetings, including logistics with outside vendors
Manage case files and ensure accurate organization of electronic and hard‑copy materials
Assist with time entry, billing support, and administrative reporting
Communicate with internal teams, courts, and external parties in a professional manner
Provide assistance with travel coordination and expense submissions as needed
Requirements:
5+ years of experience supporting litigation attorneys in a law firm setting
Experience in Construction, Health law, commercial or business litigation is required
Strong familiarity with civil litigation processes, court rules, and filing procedures
Proven experience with federal and state e‑filing systems is required
Experience formatting TOC /TOA is strongly preferred
Experience with legal document management and billing/timekeeping software preferred
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
