Job Description:

Boutique, well-regarded law firm located in Walnut Creek, with a strong focus on insurance and construction-related matters, is seeking a Litigation/eDiscovery Paralegal to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role will support attorneys on active construction defect and insurance matters and is ideal for a paralegal who is comfortable managing discovery, eDiscovery platforms, and trial preparation in a fast-paced litigation environment. The intent is to convert to a permanent position if there is a mutual fit.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage eDiscovery using Relativity, including document review and production
  • Propound and respond to written discovery
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit binders and trial logistics
  • Organize and maintain case files and litigation databases
  • Coordinate with attorneys, experts, and vendors
  • Track deadlines and assist with calendar management
  • Prepare subpoenas and coordinate records collection as needed
  • Accurately track and bill time to client matters

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Experience in construction defect or insurance litigation preferred, but open to any civil litigation background
  • Hands-on experience using Relativity for eDiscovery
  • Strong knowledge of discovery procedures and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment after initial onboarding period
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Comfortable billing time and meeting billable expectations
