Our client, a well-regarded lending institution, is seeking a skilled commercial litigation lawyer to support their team on an interim basis. This will be a 4–5+ month, full-time engagement, with a hybrid work schedule on the Central Coast. Ideal candidates will have significant litigation experience within the finance or banking sectors, along with excellent stakeholder management and strategic advisory skills.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a portfolio of commercial disputes for a private lending institution, including developing and executing litigation strategy across all stages of proceedings, in alignment with the organisation’s commercial objectives
Instruct, brief and liaise with external counsel, including managing advice, costs and deliverables, and confidently challenging recommendations where appropriate to ensure commercially pragmatic outcomes
Oversee and refine litigation processes (document management, evidence preparation, timelines, reporting) to drive efficiency, consistency and risk management
Requirements:
8-10+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial litigation, gained within a reputable law firm and/or in-house environment, ideally with experience within the banking or finance industries
Strong track record managing complex commercial disputes, including strategy development, case management and engagement with external counsel
Demonstrated commercial acumen, with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives and confidently challenge external advice where appropriate
