Job Description:

Robert Half Legal Permanent Placement is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our client's litigation team in Vernon, Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury law and a proven ability to manage cases from intake through resolution, including trial if necessary. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, with potential for partnership and bonuses, in a supportive and dynamic work environment.

Job Responsibility:

Manage legal cases from initial intake through settlement or trial, ensuring thorough case preparation and client representation
Handle a mix of Workers' Compensation (approximately 75%) and Personal Injury (25%) cases
Conduct in-depth legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other legal documents to support litigation strategies
Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, when necessary, to achieve favorable outcomes
Engage in discovery processes, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review
Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance companies to negotiate settlements and resolve disputes
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case progress and communications
Stay informed about relevant legal precedents, statutes, and regulations to provide effective counsel
Participate in local and statewide bar association events to enhance development and networking
Uphold high standards of integrity and communication in all client and colleague interactions

Requirements:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in the state of Connecticut
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation and Personal Injury law
Strong understanding of civil litigation processes and procedures
Proven ability to draft motions, briefs, and other legal documentation with precision
Experience with discovery, including depositions and document review
Excellent research, analytical, and argumentation skills
Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines effectively
